Costa Del Mar 580 lenses were designed by in-house light spectrum experts to enhance colors because standard sunglass lenses fell short. The lens’ multipatented technology manages light by:

1.  Absorbing Harmful High-Energy Blue Light (HEV)
- Cuts haze and blur for greater clarity
- In addition to 100% protection from UV light, 580 technology also absorbs HEV light known to cause macular degeneration, pterygium, cataracts and other eye diseases.

2.  Enhancing Reds, Greens, and Blues
- Blocking harsh yellow light at 580 nm on the visible light spectrum boosts the amounts of red, greens and blues naturally, enhancing colors and contrast

3.  Filtering Out Harsh Yellow
- For enhanced color, sharper contrast and higher definition

580G - Lightwave Glass - has superior clarity and unmatched scratch resistance
--Glass Provides the Best Clarity and Optics
--The Mirror Treatments are encapsulated and protected in between the glass layers so the mirror treatments are impossible to scratch.
--20% Thinner and 22% Lighter than any other Polarized Glass in the market.

Costa Del Mar C-Mates Whitetip Review TRANSCRIPT

Costa C-Mates Whitetip. You've heard of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses and I'm sure you've probably have heard of their new style Whitetip, but have you heard of C-Mates?
The C-Mates Collection is something that Costa came up with, which is a great idea, because a lot of us that are over 40, we need reading glasses. But we also need polarized sunglasses.
So let's say you're fishing or out there on the boat, you don't have to worry about trying to put your reading glasses on or take these (sunglasses) off and putting your reading glasses on and the whole switch-a-roo in order to tie the knots or look at something that's really tiny or perhaps if you're out and about in the city and you want to answer the phone you want to look at a book you want to sit poolside and read.
This answers all of your problems and solves all of your questions, oh or should I say the other way around?
They (Costa C-Mates) come in seven different styles.  Seven new styles. If you go to Costa's website you'll find all of the ones that are currently being discontinued but that is not a good idea to buy.  So stick with current models like this one, the Whitetip which is what I'm going to review today.
The review is going to be about the Costa Whitetip C-Mates Readers.
This one is in Retro Tortoise.  It's available in a Black and a Retro Tortoise.  Look at this Matte Finish.  I love this color compared to the traditional tortoise that Costa would make for many many years.  This is the traditional Costa color, the tortoise. It's shiny more on the dark side.
This one is the Retro Tortoise.  Let's put the side by side to compare and contrast.  Costa has been really innovative and they've been adapting to a lot of different styles and trends and staying ahead of it when it comes to the sunglasses market.  Combining new colors and functionality aspects like reading lenses.
They come in three add powers: a +1.50, +2.00, and +2.50.
Do you even see the bifocal? Now I'm going to do something else and you should be able to see it.  Now you do, now you see the bifocal.
But now you don't (see the bifocal)
Specially when I put it on.  It's invisible (the bifocal).
Great features: We have non-slip nose pads, rubberized nose pads right there and they also have matching rubberized temple pieces to keep them from slipping.  They don't not slip what so ever and I'm shaking my head.
They also have vents.  Right here on the side, three vents and channel air right through there and the reason why they have that (the vents) is to help with fogging in humid conditions.  Houston, where we are, is very humid.  Miami, maybe not so much California, but we're going to have some really humidity all along the Coast and this is going to help.  Is going to completely stop from fogging up your sunglasses? Maybe not, but it's going to help considerably and a lot of the other sunglasses and even a lot of the readers don't have it.  So it's a really nice feature.
Now let's talk about size because this is important when picking something out.  You won't always have the ability to go to the store because a lot of opticals or even sunglasses stores don't have these Costa C-Mates readers.  When you're buying online hopefully us www.EyewearRepublic.com.  How do you know what is going to fit?  This one is a Medium Size.  The reason why I say it's a Medium is because I have a big head but the medium size is going to be the smallest I'll ever wear.  This  fits perfect.
The bifocal, when I'm looking through it, is not getting in the way at all.  This is what I love about this style in particular.  It doesn't get in the way at all.  I have to access the bifocal by just naturally 16 to 18 inches is the good focal length.  And even closer, because I'm even closer than 16 inches.  This is about 12 maybe 10 inches and it's still working great.  The power is awesome.  This is a good size. Now, back to the size, this is a medium.
The Costa Ballast is going to be smallest sunglasses  that they make and this is just not for me at all.  They fitting way below my eyebrows eventhough this has nose pads that I adjust it's just too narrow.
But then again, how do it's compare to the larger one? This is a large one and this is the Costa Gulf Shore.  The Costa Gulf Shore within the C-Mates Collection.  This is another Medium and this is the Costa Brine.  The Costa Brine doesn't fit as well as the Costa Whitetip.  If you have a big head you could possibly wear these.  If you have a small head you can wear a Medium but it's a Medium, definitely a Medium.
It's not as small as a Costa Ballast.  Definitely not as big as the Costa Gulf Shore.
Wrap around design is going to block out all the light all of the sun's harmful rays from the side.
It's going to give me really good peripheral vision.  Another great thing is.... Let's look at the temple tips.  They are strap ready, people!  Strap, you have to have a strap and there is a specific strap.  It's called the Costa C-Mono Gripper Strap.  The Costa C-Mono Gripper is the one that fits perfectly with this one.
Now let's talk about the advantages of shopping online and shopping from stores like www.EyewearRepublic.com which is really has a great assortment there.  Look at that, you're going to be able to pick let's say right here.  A lot of the stores are not going to have the variety that we have online.  There isn't any way.  Here, you would be able to choose the Add Power(bifocal power). You will choose between: +1.50, +2.00, and a +2.50 and then you will come right here to choose the color.  You choose the color you choose the power everything else.
Keep in mind, the stores are not going to have the variety.  We are going to have the variety available in our store and more importantly with our website (www.EyewearRepublic.com) is how organized it is.  It is not very confusing and we have every single available style that Costa Del Mar makes.
So, I hope you have a great day. If you like the review, hey, like the video.  If you found this helpful, let me know below.
What is the most helpful tip that you found? Anything I can do for you, let me know.  Have a great day!
