Transcript of Episode 1:

Hey, thank you for joining me today. I’m taking you along on a day full of excitement.

Inside this box are the boxes that I ordered yesterday from Patty.  They are going to be part of an amazing giveaway that we’re going to be doing. It’s a new campaign where we’re just going to giveaway eyeglass cases and cleaning cloths so that we can help people and get the word out about what we’re doing here at Eyewear Republic.

Alright, let’s figure out who’s...Gonzales, hey…. Alright Amanda. You’re not gonna be the first one to know but guess what? Your frames just arrived and now I have to put the lenses inside of it.

This is the part of the day that I try to reconnect with customers that I had at the other location. The program the database that I have, yesterday I've been working on the U's (letter in the alphabet). Go over here, choose a name. I have their phone number so I get my cell phone and then I text them and I greet them and I send them a personalized message that lets them know that, "Hey, I'm back and I'm here to help you and I'm here to help you with any adjustments that you might have any prescription changes or new eyewear.  I usually just try to spend time as much time as I can in between things that I'm doing that way I can reconnect with them because what happens is that yesterday I contacted a dear customer and she says, "how long have you been open?" and I said, "three months". She says, "what took you so long to get a hold of me?". I said, "well, ah, it just takes a while because I do it one by one". So, I apologize for the delay but I'm gonna get to your phone number and I promise I'm going to try to contact you and say hello again and reconnect.

It's some time between 1:30pm and 2:00pm so I'm going to have lunch now.  And I get to share with you some details about what a low glycemic index nutrition looks like. So this is gonna be something that I cooked last night and it's gonna be lunch for today and maybe even lunch tomorrow for sure because this is just a lot of food.  So I decorated it with some red bell peppers, but underneath it you're going to find sausage, mushrooms, asparagus. Great stuff. Low glycemic index nutrition, it heals everything. I highly recommend it. I can also answer any questions about it. I've been doing it for 1 1/2 years now and I've had an amazing transformation of which I don't really talk about too much but I will sharing with you and opening up more about that side of my personal nutrition, health, and well being and I also try to help people (and some of you know who you are) and it's one person at a time. Keep it up, keep it up, c'mon.

This is lunch.  Look at that. When it has this much color you know it has to be super nutritious, amazing.

And lunch is not complete until you have a big heaping spoonful of peanut butter to get some nice healthy fats., a little bit of protein and of course you've gotta have electrolyte supplementation: potassium, magnesium,  and turmeric, and some fenugreek.

Ah, yeah! I have to do it all. Thank you very much.  Ah, so I've partnered up with Reach Stretch the concept of this of why I had to order these cases overnight is that Reach Stretch which is right across the street, was kind enough to include me in their grand opening giveaway. I wanted to be a part of it, so I ordered cases. Actually this was not really my entire idea.  It was Kenneth's great idea because all I had at the moment when we were talking was a cloth and he said what about a case. So I said, "heck yes"! Had I had enough time, ahead of time I would have had these labeled properly labeled with the information like:

Name of the business, address, phone number, email but this is going to have to do but I'm not going to give them away by themselves.  I will have...each case paired up with a cloth and that (the cloth) has our info on it and it's very attractive. That is what I'm going to do, is put them together. And Kenneth suggested about 100.  It's Wednesday. I don't know...I'll do as many as I can. His grand opening party/event is going to be on Saturday. I'll do my best to get as many as I can done.

Mr. Wilson, how is it going?

Still at it.  It's a really slow process...slow and steady wins the race.  That is the way it works. So I went next door to go see Ronnie so that he would let me borrow this little guy right here, this marker so that I may creatively solve a problem that I was having with the cases. Ah, and when I was over there he ran out of the cloths so he has been doing me the favor of giving them away to his customers. What I did was I commited to making more of these.  So, I'm gonna be busy not just making Kenneth Reach Stretch Grand Opening on Saturday but I'm also going to make some more for Ronnie and it's Wednesday. I'll just , I'll do it at night that is what I'll do. I'll put them together at night and maybe have Jerry help me. So I'm going to walk over there right now and give him the surprise that he is not only going to get cloths, he is also going to get cases for his customers.  Alright, we are doing an awesome Colab here with Ronnie Merlot's Barbershop. Hey, how is it going? How you doing? (asks Ronnie). Cooool!

Alright, let me get to work here.

Over the years, I've met some really nice people and they don't all live in Houston.  They live out of town, different cities, different countries. They still contact me and say, hey narrow down a few pieces that you think I might like and then pick some out that I'm really going to love that go well with the collection I already know that they have. I'm going to let you in on some details so the next clip that I'm going to show you is the actual video that i'm going to send Patrick as a way of narrowing down some of the frames and then he'll decide which ones he chooses whether it be one or three or how many he would like.

So, have fun this is kind of cool I've never shared this before and you get to be the first one to see it. Ok enjoy.

"Patrick, hey what's up man! Good to hear from you today!"

It's 5:47pm so I want to quick about giving a recap and even filling in some spaces where I didn't get a chance to film or to talk about it.  So, earlier like maybe ten minutes ago, I was running a little late and my goal was by a certain time to hit the record button on the YouTube LIVE and go that route which I've never done before. I have already done the Instagram LIVE and that was kind of cool that was kind of interesting but I wanted to do YouTube. For some reason, to me, it's a big deal to go YouTube LIVE because it stays there for ever.  And finally I did it, I went to hit it said it wouldn't let me because my account doesn't meet certain requirements and ah, ummm. that was ah... disappointing. So, that is the way it is. So now I wanted to talk about the word expert. Right? so I've accumulated enough years, experience, problem solving skills to call myself an expert in my Opticianry craft, but I will tell you something that I think I will never be an expert in and that's some aspects of running a business.  That is just the way it is. Ah, I've been doing it for a long time but things change things kind of smack you in the face and you never get used to that. And anyway, that YouTube thing didn't smack me in the face too bad because it's just the way it is. It's just that everyday grind of doing the business that you never get used to, ah.. it's always an uphill climb and you gotta love it because if not it will crush people. The people who aren't expecting that as entrepreneurs the people that are under the delusion that things are always just smooth and easy.  Man, I suggest you don't get started with that because you will be highly disappointed. So, there are always problems to solve. And anyway, back to the word: expert. That is really what I'm excited about. Is being an expert in my craft. Ah, my catch phrase is that:

My Progressive Lenses are 25 times more accurate than what anybody else can make for you and it's true and I love that and that is my strength.  But that is not always the case, you know the lenses cutting the lenses, helping people with their eyeglasses maybe selecting frames. That is only about 30 - 40 percent of the entire concept of a business.  60 percent 65 percent some days 80 percent is social media. It's figuring out what is going to be done or what's going to be talked about for the next three days or yeah things that you don't really have a lot of control over. So those variables become a very spontaneous type ongoing thing. So, I wanted to give you that recap and just say, "Hey, this is Episode 1 of the Eyewear Republic Show".

That is the only name that I have so far. If you come up with some better names why don't you suggest them below on the comment section.  So that is it. I hope you've had a good time, a very entertaining enlightening time and ah tell me what you think. Suggestions? tell me below.  Now, I'm not giving up on that YouTube LIVE, I just can't do it from the phone. And, my webcam I have multiple laptops so I'll have to try to find the one that has the best webcam because I have this other webcam that really sucks and it is disappointing because it makes the lighting really bad but I'll figure it out.  I'm not done. I'm going to make a YouTube LIVE show and it will be completely different than this one. So...See You Soon
